How To Get Away With Writing Short Articles For Free Website Traffic

By:

How you ever wondered what would be a great length for articles submitted to the article directory sites? Now, of course if you are writing an article just for the sake of writing it, then it really doesn't matter if you write a few solid paragraphs, or if you write an entire 10 page essay. But, if you are writing articles in order to get more free traffic to your website, then you probably need to keep in mind: That you are writing that article so that you can get free traffic to your website!

Now, I know that I just repeated myself, but I just wanted to emphasize that the goal that most of us have when we take the time to write these articles is to hopefully get people to want to learn more. What we really want is for someone to click through to our webpage at the end of the article, because if you have traffic (especially free traffic) to your website, then you are going to increase your online profits.

Now, since the click through to the website is what you really want, you are going to want to just follow a couple of simple steps each time you write your articles. You will want to follow these steps and not add much to them, and the reason why is because the longer your article gets, the less likely people are going to read the whole thing and the less likely they will even see the link to your website and your offer in the "About the Author" box.

So here are those two necessary steps you should take in your article. Follow these two steps, keep the article short, and you will probably get the reader to click through to your site.

Step one: Without using any "fluff," as fast as you can, give them solid information based on the topic of the article. If they clicked on your article in order to learn something, teach it to them fast. That's what they wanted, so just give it to them already! There really is no need to write a 3 page essay on a topic that you can cover in half a page. If the content you are providing is good solid material, without making any sales pitches, then your article will be accepted by the article directory sites in the majority of cases. An article around 600 words in length is good length.

Step two: Provide the reader with a free offer that gives them even more information on the same topic (but do it in the "About the Author" box!) Since you are going to keep your article short but informative, your readers will more than likely take you up on your offer of more free information. Just don't make your article too short. I doubt many 1 paragraph articles are accepted by the article directory sites. If you hit hard on your topic and the article ends up only being 3/4ths of a page long, then you are probably still good to go.

The article directory sites want you to use the "About the Author" box in order to share your "offer" with everyone. If you write a good, short article and provide a great offer in the "About the Author" box, then you will get the free traffic you were looking for. So make sure you take advantage of this "real estate" where you are able to promote yourself. After creating a good handful of these articles, you will start to see a constant flow of free website traffic. That's one huge benefit, but another great benefit that some people overlook is that fact that by creating these articles, others will start to view you as a true expert in your niche.
