To some people, gaining weight is a piece of cake - even to most guys out there who doesn't seem to have any troubles packing up those muscles/ But, if you are naturally skinny, you will find it very hard to put on any weight. Well, this isn't your fault, you just happen to have a very high metabolism rate which means you can burn calories faster. The thing is, most people would kill just to have that kind of metabolism, however, skinny isn't really sexy. This doesn't mean that it's impossible for you to gain weight, it's just going to take a lot of effort and determination to do so.

If you are going to pull weight gain off as a skinny guy, you are going to need to start eating a lot more. That doesn't mean that you should be eating more junk food though. Your diet should consist of mass amounts of protein. You should be looking to eat about 5 meals a day, and have each meal contain a substantial amount of protein. Great sources of protein are egg, chicken and fish. A great idea is to have a protein shake as soon as you get out of bed, and then continue with your meals throughout the day. However, doing this is going to be very hard - you will quickly get full up. So, to make sure that our bodies are ready to accept new proteins, we need to work out - and do a lot of it too.

When we exercise, our muscles literally tear open. When they tear up, we need to fill them in with new muscle to grow. And this how you are making a big change on your weight. When you come to the part of exercising, you need to lift heavy weights but only do it around 2-4 reps each time. This type of explosive training is the best way to train your bodies to add new muscle. Once you have finished your training, you should get protein in as soon as possible. The best way to do this is to buy a protein shake and use it as soon as you finish your last rep. The best type of protein to use is called 'whey' protein, and has been proven to help people gain a lot of muscle mass.

You will also need to make sure that you rest your body appropriately, as this is vital for gaining weight. If you don't give your muscles the chance to repair and grow, you will never see the gains that you are looking for. You may want to only exercise 3 times a week and use the days in between to rest and eat well.
