How To Gain Confidence - Do You Think Like A Confident Person?

By:

Confident people think differently to others. In fact, if we reduce it down to its most basic level, the difference between a confident person and someone who is lacking confidence, it all comes down to the thoughts.

The habitual thoughts you have, every moment of the day are what drives your feelings. Every feeling you have is preceded by a thought. Most thoughts are neutral (e.g. what shall i have for lunch?) but other thoughts can be positive or negative.

If you habitually have negative thoughts about yourself and your abilities, this creates feelings of lack. This makes you feel less confident. On the other hand, if the thoughts you have are positive then you will feel better and more confident.

Here are some examples of the thought patterns that someone with a strong self-belief might have:

I have confidence in myself
I have confidence in my abilities
I am worthy and deserving of happiness
I am independent in my thoughts, unaffected by others opinions
I am resilient. No matter what happens I retain total belief in myself
I approach relationships with a feeling of completeness
I dont need validation from others to feel good about myself
I only interact with people who treat me with love and respect
I look after my health because I value myself. I deserve to be healthy.

A confident person is thinking these thoughts most of the time. With these thoughts they are able to deal with any situation and feel confident and self-assured.

The important thing to remember is that with some effort and practice, you can change the habitual thoughts that you have. You can replace unhelpful thoughts with helpful ones.

Read through the list again. Imagine what it would be like to believe with heart and soul that these beliefs were true.

Pick one of these thoughts and try and live your day today as if it was true. You will be amazed at the results!
