Trade in that J.O.B. for a work-at-home income. It sounds so enticing to so many people, but how hard is it to make a decent income working from home? How do you find the best programs? What is affiliate marketing?

What are your dreams? Can you remember when you were a kid, and the whole world lay at your feet? We get so busy with just staying alive that we sometimes forget the dreams we had. How many hours a week do you work, trying to keep your life together? Between commuting, lunchtime, and a normal eight-hour day, it can easily turn into 50+ hours a week.

You lose all those hours away from home and family, or even just time for yourself. We've all been sold that piece of good advice: work hard, be honest, dependable, courteous and obedient and you'll end up with a great job, two weeks vacation and a salary that almost pays the bills. The truth is that those are really admirable qualities. But, it is lousy when someone turns those qualities against you to take advantage of you.

Who is getting rich from your hard work? Along the way, your dreams end up on the back burner, set aside for another day. We give up the dream willingly, to hold on to that piece of security.

There is another way, a better way. Everyone has heard about all the money that can be made on-line. Maybe you even know someone who's tried and failed, or maybe someone you know even made a few bucks.

If you've done any research on the internet, you know that there are a lot of gurus out there professing to be the end-all to teach you how; you too, can make your fortune. When I first started as an Internet Marketer, I did the same as everyone else. I bought a lot of programs, looking for information to become an affiliate marketing person. I searched the internet obsessively, looking for answers. What I found was a big dent in my wallet, and still no online income.

Most of us are afraid of being scammed, but what I actually believe is that most marketers are sincere, offering legitimate programs. Talk about being killed with kindness. The problem is that there is so much information; I found it difficult to sort out what would be relevant to my life. What would enable me to start earning money in the near future?

Also, did I mention that I am not a computer geek, with little idea about HTML, or how to get a website set up. I found that affiliate marketing is probably as user friendly as it gets. This enables you to sell other peoples products, without having to create a product of your own. Whether you are extremely proficient on the internet, or a newbie, just learning the ropes, there are programs to match your area of expertise.

Many online businesses can be started with a minimal investment, as well as there being an abundance of free training online. Most of these programs can be set up in the evening or on weekends, allowing you to keep your day job until you see a steady income from your online business.

Most importantly, don't give up on your dreams. You deserve all that life has to offer. Give your dreams a chance.
