How To Find A Tanning Bed For Sale

By:

Tanning beds have become quite popular lately, especially in light of the many benefits they've been shown to provide. Where once a seeming fad, indoor tanning has been increasing in popularity steadily for years now. If you're looking for a tanning bed for sale you have several options.

Outlets selling tanning beds and booths aren't vast in number but continue to grow. The Internet, however, is full of tanning bed retailers and a simple search can find hundreds of thousands of options. Some sites do a good job of describing equipment manufactured all over the world and make comparison-shopping rather easy. Some will include user ratings, which I usually find helpful.

These are, not surprisingly, more expensive to buy than the 'made in China' imitation machines. In this area, 'you get what you pay for' may still be an appropriate axiom to follow. More than three-quarters of the models advertised for sale on the Internet are either made in China, Indonesia or Viet Nam.

The technology has changed significantly since the earliest days of indoor tanning beds (1978) but the principle remains the same. Tanning beds (and booths) utilize UV (ultra-violet) lamps to deliver a spectrum of light similar to natural sunlight. This is typically about 97% UVA rays and 3% UVB. These percentages can fluctuate slightly.

With proper precautions, artificial tanning is safe and effective. Necessary safeguards include goggles and suntan lotion and attention to the amount of time spent 'sun-bathing'. Although much has been made of the hazards involved in indoor tanning, most of this information has been shown to be alarmist and just untrue. We need a certain amount of sunshine and, for many, this is difficult to fit in with their busy schedules.

Going in for some tanning sessions before taking a vacation can be a smart move. Not only will you look and feel better as a result but also your skin will be better able to withstand the heat of the actual sun when you hit the beach in your swimwear. You won't look like a 'white ghost' in the first days of your respite and will be less likely to become sunburned too.

Tanning salons are springing up all over. They allow customers to visit and receive a treatment at their convenience (often after the sun's gone down outside). An increasingly popular solution is to find a good tanning bed for sale and install it in your home. This allows you to sunbathe whenever you choose and, if you're a regular tanning bed user, can end up paying for itself in the salon fees saved.
