When evaluating and choosing a way to work from home, an important thing to look for is home business coaching and leadership.

More people than ever are looking for a way to make extra money. Some are trying to replace a full time income, either because they are getting downsized, or reading the tea leaves and know it's going to happen soon.

This is the first of a five part series in how to evaluate and choose the best home based business.

This is truly a misunderstood but very important topic. Most people choose what they think is a great home based business. But they're doing it for all the wrong reasons. This article will share Criteria Number One.

COACHING AND LEADERSHIP (Especially for the Newbies)

It's a fact. Most people coming into MLM have been there before. And most of them have failed.

It wasn't because they were lazy. It wasn't because they were dumb.

It's simply because they weren't thinking like someone who succeeds in network marketing.

You have to learn from people who have had success. You have to have access to coaching and leadership that comes from reliable sources.

And if the company takes itself seriously, they will have that available.

If they don't have strong leadership and coaching available for it's distributors (old and new) there are simply too many places where you can get it from others.

In this day and age, with the amount of information and training available, it's silly to expect less than strong leadership and coaching from a company whose success is tied to yours.

There are a lot of great training resources in the home business world. They teach some important success strategies. I have grown my own business by plugging into and studying some of the great in the industry. Jim Rohn is the first person who comes to mind.

But there is nothing so valuable as training that is specific to the company. Each company has a marketing plan, products or services, a way of attracting and converting leads.

Getting coached on the ways that work best for this company - what the leaders did and how they did it - this information is absolutely priceless.

Any company that takes itself seriously will have leadership available to its new people and will help them build quickly.

Make sure you study the greats of the industry. They have important information to share.

But all of the giants will also tell you the same thing...

Plug into the leadership each company has to offer.

And if it isn't there, find a company that has it.
