Stop your symptoms? Eliminate Candida? And cure your yeast infections permanently?

Yeast infections aren't dangerous, but they can be very painful and irritating. You likely will have local symptoms in the area of the infection, such as pain, itching and burning. And if the infection spreads to the rest of the body, you may also have symptoms all over your body, such as headaches, fatigue, digestive pain, allergies and more. Although this can be discouraging, there are many things that are within your power to control that can reduce Candida in your body and eliminate infections permanently. However, a whole-body cure requires a whole-body approach. While this won't be as easy as taking a pill, it will lead to more lasting results.

First of all, you need to understand why you get yeast infections in the first place so you can eliminate the risk factors you have that allow Candida to thrive in the body. For example, what types of foods do you eat? Do you consume foods that are mostly sugar or refined carbohydrates, such as white rice or bread? How much fiber and vegetables do you eat? You must realize that yeast consumes sugar as its primary source of energy. Whenever you eat sweetened foods or carbohydrates with a high glycemic index, you are giving nourishment to your infection.

At the opposite end of the equation, a high fiber diet with lots of vegetables will help strengthen your immune system and help your body eliminate toxins from the body. It can be hard to make such significant changes to your diet, but it's crucial to do so if you are serious about ending your yeast infections permanently.

Next, do you have any medical conditions or are you using any medications that create an overgrowth of Candida in the body? For example, people with diabetes are known to have a higher risk of developing yeast infections because of the increased levels of glucose in their bodies. If this applies to you, see a doctor, who can work with you to better control your blood glucose. Even if you don't have diabetes, if you have any medical condition that weakens the immune system, your body will have a harder time fighting back against any infection, including those caused by yeast. It's crucial that you take good care of yourself, eat well and get adequate sleep, as this will give your body's natural defenses the best chance of fighting back.

Certain medications, such as antibiotics, steroids and hormonal birth control, may also increase your risk of developing a Candida infection. Try to reduce the frequency that you take antibiotics or steroids (in almost all cases, steroids should only be taken for a limited amount of time). If you use hormonal birth control, there are non-hormonal alternatives available, such as the copper IUD, condoms or a diaphragm.

Over the counter and prescription antifungal medications (like Monistat or Diflucan) can be helpful in the short term, some people discover that their infections come back as soon as they stop using the medications. These medications aren't necessarily harmful, but they are not an adequate replacement for the steps described earlier if you truly want to permanently eliminate Candida.
