How To Dress If You Are A Tall Man

By:

While being tall has its advantages, finding clothes that fit can be a challenge for tall men. The difficulty many tall men face is finding clothes that are long enough for their bodies. Still, knowing what colors and patterns to wear can make all the difference in how a tall man looks.

There are two basic rules that tall men should keep in mind regarding attire. First, do not buy clothes that are oversized, because they will hang off your body. Second, avoid clothing that is overly fitted. If you have a large build the clothes will look awkward, and if you are really slim you will look like a beanpole. Both are looks you really do not want.

When buying shirts make sure they can be properly tucked in, otherwise the shirt will never look right. It can be difficult for some tall men to find a shirt that can be tucked in, but it is better to continue your search than wear a shirt that is too small. This rule holds true even if you do not usually tuck your shirt in.

Jackets that are too small will also never look right, because it will make your legs look to long, when compared to the rest of your body. Your goal should be to find jackets or blazers that fit to just below your hip. This will make you look proportioned. Opt for two button blazers over the three button type, because going with three buttons will make you look even taller. If you are tall with a lean body double-breasted blazers will compliment you. Coats should be fitted to just below your knees. Follow this tip and you will command respect.

Tall guys look better with straight legged pants and jeans over the boot cut style. The bottom of your pants should cover the top part of your shoe. High-waist pants should always be avoided by tall men. If you are on the heavy side go with a mid-waist jean, and slim tall men should stay with low-waist jeans or pants.

When you are tall wearing pants and shirts of different colors is a great way to visually break up your body. Wearing only one color will only serve to make you look even taller. If you are going to wear patterns wear big patterns. You can also try vertical shapes or stripes to balance out your frame.
