How To Dress For The Party Season

By:

Now is the time to be finalising Christmas present lists and deciding whether we want to go elegant, sexy, sophisticated to all the parties. Whether youre hitting the dance-floor, smooching under the mistletoe, or looking good for the family the party season is a time when we want to shine and look our best. Dresses are the easiest style choice as you do not have to think about mixing and matching.

One of the more obvious colour choices for parties and festivities are metallic shades, whether be silver or gold, these are the perfect colours to dazzle in! If you are going top-to-toe silver or gold, perhaps better to have subtle styling to avoid that Christmas tree look! Even better mix these bold choices with more muted complimentary colours and remember to experiment with colours that flatter your skin tone.

Just because its cold does mean that you cannot look captivating. The turtle-neck is without doubt a fashion classic that everyone needs to own as its cosy and brings your pretty face into focus. So wear with a hint of blush and a smile and look cute and comfortable in the coming chill! The turtle-neck is also fantastic for creating a blank canvas to show off wonderful necklaces and statement cuffs. Another winter must-have is the over-sized poncho, the perfect and prettiest cover-up a girl could possibly own. It is a necessity uring the festive season when we all indulge in a little of what we fancy, the poncho can hide a multitude of sins. It can also be worn with the skinniest of jeans and will bring rock star glamour to the simplest of ensembles.

Last but not least another addition to our jersey studio is the oh so sweet scarf! We are so absolutely dependent on this winter accessory that we cannot go out the door without one, even when its not quite cold enough and we have to try and ram it into our bags when we're on the move! The scarf is the style safety blanket they makes us feel cosy and interesting in all colours.

Another big tip is to browse the net and see what is happening with fashion trends, beauty trends, celebrity fashions and then emulate your own versions. It is very important to only buy a party dress that reflects your personality, its all very well getting inspired by the trends, however, you do not want to look like a fashion victim and for people to be glancing at you for the wrong reasons! Choose a dress that flatters your figure, according to your body size, height and ask your friends what they think. Its best to avoid anything really too tight, too short and too loose, fit is very important so why not take the time to measure yourself and go for something more bespoke. Be sure to choose the appropriate accessories that compliment the elegance and colour of your dress choice.

Detachable belts are fantastic for those who want to detract from their mid-section. If you want to perk up a more subtle, classic style why not opt for a dazzling belt in a daring shade like fuchsia or emerald and opt for some stilettos to elongate legs and get you noticed!
