How To Double Your Income By Curing Procrastination

By:

Procrastination is one of the most stultifying problems any of us must face--and we all must face it at some point in our lives. But once you learn to take care of procrastination, you can double your time, double your income, and double the quality of your life in general.

Are you an optimistic procrastinator, or a negative one?

Optimistic procrastinators put things off with the justification that they will surely be able to get the job done in time--at a later time. Pessimistic procrastinators, on the other hand, just "know" that there is no way the task will ever actually get done.

The truth is, however, that these are either just justifications or excuses. They cover up the real truth about procrastination. It is a truth that will help you double your income. Once you acknowledge it for what it is and start to turn thing around.

The real truth about procrastination.

There is something deeper at the bottom of our tendency to procrastinate. It manifests itself in the pessimistic and optimistic justifications for why we put things off. But these justifications simply help us hide from ourselves what is going on.

And what exactly is going on? The truth is that when we procrastinate, it is because we are attempting to do what we do not love! If we want to overcome procrastination, we must learn to do only those things that we truly love (or at least do not actively hate!).

"But wait just a minute," you say. "Life is full of things that we don't want to do. But we have to do them--that's all part of being an adult."

I understand where this attitude comes from. It's ground into us from a very young age (and in a few unfortunate cases, literally beaten into us, I'm sad to say). But it's just not the truth about the matter.

How you can quit doing things you hate--and double your income in the process.

The best way to overcome this problem is to delegate the things you do not love to do. If you own your own business, this may requ0ire hiring a new employee. Don't cringe--you're almost certain to make more money with your freed-up time, than your new employee will cost you.

It may mean delegating certain household tasks to family members, while you take on tasks of theirs that they may not wish to do.

If you are starting your own business, you might want to try bartering with service providers--many will be happy to trade their services for your services or goods (and you both end up getting more value out of the deal).

If you work in an office, you may have to delegate, trade, or even pay for someone else to do some tasks that you hate. Even if you spend money on outsourcing, you can make up for it and double your income by focusing on what you love.

Finally, if overcoming procrastination would involve outsourcing your entire job--it's time to get a new job!
