How To Dominate The Search Engine Rankings In Untapped Niches

Despite the fact that more and more people are creating websites nowadays, the vast majority of these people have no idea how to actually achieve top search engine rankings. Therefore what this means is that there are still lots of untapped niches out there that are just waiting to be dominated.

This is surprisingly easy to do as well. Of course you should provide plenty of good quality content on your website first of all, but once you've done that it's time to start the process of obtaining backlinks to your site. You don't just want random backlinks though because the actual link text that is used should contain the keywords you wish to rank for.

To start off with you should target the low hanging fruit, as they say, which basically means the less popular keywords that a lot of people ignore. These will be very easy to rank for, and as a result you will soon start to see a few visitors to your site through these keywords. After a few months you can then start being a little more aggressive in your link-building and start going after the more competitive keywords.

So how do you actually obtain all of these backlinks?

Well there many different ways you can do so, and you should use as many as possible in order to make the links look natural. Some of the easiest ways include leaving comments on other people's blogs and participating in forums within your niche (that allow sig files).

You can also submit your site to the various online directories, both the free and paid ones, and bookmark your site on various social bookmarking sites. Plus if you are a decent writer, you can also write articles (which will include a link to your site in the resource box) and submit them to many of the top article directories.

All of these methods are effective ways of building links. The key is to build links gradually. After a few months you could be near the top of the search engine rankings for your chosen niche, particularly if it's a relatively small niche where the leading sites aren't very well optimized for the search engines.

The key to success in these smaller niches, however, is not just to build one site. You ideally want to build multiple sites and build links to all of these sites, even interlinking them if you are using different hosting accounts for each one. Your end goal should be to completely dominate the first page of results for the main keywords in your niche. This will give you huge amounts of traffic and it is not that difficult to achieve if you are focused on building backlinks to your various sites using some of the methods I mentioned earlier.
