How To Distinguish Is My Marriage Worth Saving?

By:

So how do you decide upon if your marriage is worth saving and working towards, or if it's time to start the divorce process.
There are so many things that can lead you to wonder "is this marriage worth saving?".

One thing that may make you start to question your mate, is if you are having frequent arguments with your spouse. No one wants to live a married life that involves continuous feuding, especially when the arguments are centered around silly things. Furthermore, having a spouse who belittles you, disregards your feelings and takes you for granted is a sure way to inspire a divorce.

These are the types of things that cause you to ask, "Is my marriage worth saving?". Even if you are already considering divorce as a solution, there are steps you can take to help heal the pain in your marriage and save it. The first thing you have to do is decide if your marriage is worth working on, and then make the decision to put in that effort.

You are setting yourself up for failure if you cannot let go of the past, and truly work on your marriage. Try to imagine your mate in a relationship with someone else, to accurately determine how you would handle being apart.

When you picture your spouse this way, how does it make you feel?
The next step involves determining whether or not your partner is ready to meet you in the middle and do their part to make things right again.

It is nearly impossible for a marriage to be salvaged if only one partner is willing to put in the work necessary. Are you both committed to honest communication, so both partners are aware of the other's feelings? Will your partner be willing to attend marriage counseling sessions with you?

Are you both committed to starting fresh, with past hurts forgotten, and no grudges carried over?. You can feel confident that your marriage is worth saving, if, after careful consideration, the answer to these questions is yes. Conversely, by sacrificing your personal values and attempting to accomplish the rectification of your marriage on your own, the relationship may not be worth salvaging after all.

Your spouse doesn't deserve to have you in his or her life if they are physically, emotionally or mentally abusive to you. The key ingredients to any successful marriage involve two happy partners who feel loved and cherished by the other.

Marriage is a commitment that should be treated with the utmost respect, as it was entered in as a lifetime commitment. This means that whatever you decide to do about this relationship, should be done with careful consideration.
