Once the computer gets infected, most of you will open the process of task manager, and shut down the suspicious program. However, sometime, even the suspicious was shut down; it will reenter to computer process back after restart. In such condition, we tend to own the computer notepad to modify both the EXE association software to be able to disable the disease, and change entry, at last scan pc with anti-virus applications.
Detail operation:
Step 1: In the Start Run, type CMD, open the Command Prompt window.
Step 2: Enter ftype exefile=notepad.exe %1, which means open all EXE with notepad, thus, the virus cant start up and run.
Step 3: Restart your computer; you will see a lot of notepad. Of course virus is among them, but there are some original system files, such as input program.
Step 4: right click any files, select open with, and then click browse, turn under WindowsSystem32, select cmd.exe, then user can reopen Command Prompt window.
Step 5: Run ftype exefile=%1 %*, restore all EXE association program. Now use anti-software to remove the virus again, or change back the registry. The virus can be deleted now.
Step 6: open each Notepad, click the menu File Save As, you can see the path and file name of the notepad. Find the virus file, you can manually delete it, but be careful, to be sure it is the virus. Its better to write down those files names, then restart computer, check if there is no virus trouble, and no system problems, and then delete.
Above all are major steps for manual disabling the virus by changing the exe association program, its just limited to professional users. As for inexperience users, I still recommend them to install
