When deciding what product to create, it is very important to have a firm grasp of what your customer wants. To do this, you need to get them involved in the product creation process.

One out of the many ways of doing this is through voting. The other is through surveys and case studies. The key is to develop a positive interaction with your customers so that they drive the creation of your next product.

As a result a few things will happen. The first is that your customers are now emotionally involved in the creation of the product. The product creation 'story' now involves them. The second is that it turns the product into a crowd favourite even before it is created which of course leads to more sales.

The two principles I have just given you are powerful when used together. However, preselling is more than just a casual test. Done the wrong way, your customers are going to feel like youre playing games with them and you will quickly lose their trust.
