It is true. You can become your own professional hang tag printer for your custom hang tags. You dont need to send out your print hang tags to produce a bundle of them. You can do it on your own. You just need a sturdy inkjet or laser printer, some craft materials, your creativity and imagination, and you are on your way to creating and printing your custom made hang tags.

Creating and designing your custom hang tags for your products provides that personal, handmade touch to your marketing materials. By designing it on your own, you are creating a more customized tool that you can use for each one of your products. You can create a hang tag for every shape and size of your products, and you can even create a scheme for each marketing campaign and purpose. You can even add extra information and detail as much as you want because you are the one controlling your design, hence, you can put anything you want in there.

The thing you need to remember is that when creating your custom hang tags, there are no limits to what you can do. As long as you have your imagination, youre good to go.

So heres a step-by-step process of creating your very own hang tag printing.

Step 1: Make sure you have all your materials with you. You will need a designing software program such as Adobe Photoshop. Or whatever you are comfortable working with. Just remember that you need to be comfortable and skilled with your software application so that you wont have a hard time manipulating your design layout using your software.

Step 2: So lets assume you are using Adobe Photoshop. Open a new file document using a dimension of 3 inches in height and 2 inches in width. This is the standard measurement for most hang tags. But if you want to further customize your hang tag, you can alter your dimensions to fit what you require for your marketing tool.

Step 3: Open the color palette in your software program and choose your main color for your hang tag. Double click on the color. Remember to choose the color that would fully represent the type of message or image you would want to convey with your hang tags. The right color can go a long way in helping you get remembered by your target clients.

Step 4: Next, click on the shape tool. This can be found on the menu bar. Then click on one of the shapes for your tag. You can click directly on the left hand corner which is at the upper portion of your document. Drag the shape of your hang tag towards the right hand corner of your document.

Step 5: It is now time to add decorations to your hang tag. Again go to the shape tool menu and choose a new design ingredient. Using your mouse, draw your decoration in your hang tag. Then change the color of your accent by opening the color palette. Double click again on your color choice.

Step 6: Go to the text tool. This is where you will type your words. Type the information you would want to share with your recipients of your hang tags. Then open the options in the text tool bar, and then change your font.

Step 7: Prepare your printer. Put your card stock in. Print the design youve made onto your paper stock. If you need many hang tags, repeat the process.

Step 8: Using a pair of scissors or cutter, cut out your hang tags and then punch a hole on top of each if you are going to tie it to your gift. Or if you are just going to tape it on the item, put tape at the back side.

Step 9: Use your custom hang tags.
