If you have Internet, then you need to set yourself up an e-mail address. You can actually have as many emails as you want for free. The reason for the e-mail address is so you can communicate with others, whether family, friends or shopping online. You will need the address so people can stay in touch, or send a conformation for the items you purchased.
There are many different providers offering e-mail accounts for people. If you want one for free you can use Yahoo or Hotmail. If you want to go with others, you will need to check their requirements. Some will charge you for an e-mail box, while others allow you to have one, if you have a friend who is already actively with them. Be sure to read what sites have to offer and if there is a fee involved.
In order to create an e-mail account, you will need to visit the provider's site that you've decided on. Once you are here you say you want to create an e-mail address. No matter which provider you decide to go with they will need some basic information about you. They want to know, usually the city, state and country where you live in. Then they usually ask for your birthday and the gender you are. You need to decide what name is best for your e-mail address.
This is the place where you can see how creative you are. When you decide on a name the provider will check the name in their database real quickly and make sure that it is not already in use. If you chose a name and it belongs to someone else, then the provider will come back with some recommendations that you could choose from.
After you choose a name then you will have to do a password. You want to make sure that it contains letters and numbers in your password. This makes it harder for others to figure out what it is. It is always better to write the password and insert it somewhere until you get to use typing it into the site.
Upon completing the password, you will usually be asked to select your security question. Sometimes you will need to choose two, but usually you are only required to have one in place. When you choose the question you need to enter the correct answer as it pertains to you. This is for if you forget your password, you will be asked the security questions and you will need to have the right answer in order to get the password sent to you.
The Internet is a good place to shop on-line. You will be remembered when you enter your email address. Remember though the more places your email address is entered the more email spam you will receive. When the spam starts to accumulate, you wonder how to stop spam from coming inside your inbox. It is best before entering your e-mail address anywhere, to be sure that you did not consent to e-mails to be sent to you by other companies. This will help keep spam from taking over your inbox.
