In most Asian cultures, women are very family oriented. They are very obedient to their parents and wouldn't do anything that would make them disapprove of her. So whatever their parents tell them, they will surely obey. Dating an Asian women would also mean courting her parents first. You have to get their approval before you can go out with their daughter. How do you make a good impression on her parents?

Respect her parents. It's very important that you show courtesy to her father and mother. Showing respect would also mean showing gratitude because if not for them, you won't be able to meet their daughter. In the Philippines, a common gesture of respect is by holding the elders hand in the forehead. In Korea and Japan, bowing is the most common act of respect. Show respect and they will surely respect you too. It's a proven thing that when you are courteous to the girl's parents, they won't treat you badly even though they don't like you for their daughter.

Show her parents that your intentions are honorable. What parents need to know is that you ares serious about their daughter and not just playing around. Talk to them and tell them your feelings and intentions. And then tell them of your plans for the girl. They will be satisfied once they realize that you won't break their daughter's heart. But when you talk to them, make sure you mean what you say. Don't make promises just to break them in the end.

Bring them gifts. When you go to the girl's house to visit, always bring something for the parents or for the family. You can bring wine or whiskey for the father or pasta for the mother. If the father asks you to drink with him, then drink with him. Never turn him down. Once they get disappointed, you will have less chances of seeing the girl. But don't forget your gift for the girl. She might think that you're more interested in her family than her.

Spend time with the family. Play games with her siblings or play chess with her father. Help her mother do heavy chores or watch television with the family. The more time you spend with them, the closer you get to her family. It's now easier to court the girl if you have her family's approval. Sometimes, it's even the family members who will endorse the suitor.

It's always easier to make a girl fall for you if her parents and families are so fond of you. She will easily love you when she sees that you get along very well with her family. She probably won't go out with someone whom her parents disapprove of. So it's a good advantage to have her parents backing you up.
