How To Clean Up The Profits With A Cleaning Business

By:

Society sets great store in what we do as a profession. After you introduce yourself to someone, the follow up question they always ask is: "So, what do you do for a living?".

Of course, it would be really impressive to say that you own your own company and you are your own boss but even then, there are degrees of acceptable business association. This is a shame really because even if you are the CEO of a start-up high tech company, you probably aren't going to be making a profit until you are bought out by another company or you take your company public.

In fact, you've probably gone broke getting loans from friends, family and financial institutions while also courting angel investors and venture capitalists. The sad part is that not very many people make it, look at the heyday of the tech boom in the late 1990s only to have everything crash in the tech bubble.

So, even though you have a fancy title to your name and you're in charge of a company in a fast moving industry, not everything is as it seems. In fact, there's probably better (but boring ways) to start a business and make money.

In the stock market world, there are companies that are slow plodders; they are not flashy but they continually churn out profits and the reason they do is because they are recession proof. In fact, the general consensus of these companies is that they are downright boring. However, boring can be good because it doesn't attract a lot of competitors and you can monopolize the market. One such market is the cleaning industry which turns out billion dollar profits year after year.

The truth is, it is very easy to get into the cleaning business and set up your own domestic house cleaning company. The overhead is not a lot, especially compared to tech start-ups. Your customer base tends to be repeat customers that will only grow as you get more clients and judging by how hectic everyone's lives are, there is a need to fill all those house cleaning jobs available.

If you're in an unprofitable business, perhaps you need to change your mindset and seek out the boring industries that no one wants and where there is to no competition. It can be much more lucrative business decision than one that looks good on paper or one that makes great dinner conversation but ultimately, it has no legs.
