How To Clean Up Smoke Damage In The Kitchen

If you spend a lot of time in your kitchen doing a lot of cooking, you might find that you will end up with some kind of smoke damage. This damage will settle itself on your walls and on the outside of our cabinets. It will make your walls and ceilings have a brownish color, and your cabinets will end up with a sticky greasy feel to the wood. This stuff on your cabinets, if allowed to sit for too long, will cause the wood of these cabinets to rot and cause the shine to become dull.

About every month, you might want to get on a chair with a soapy hot rag to wash off the walls and ceilings in your kitchen to remove this color. Doing this will help the color on your walls to stay better and longer. If you are going to repaint your walls, you will really need to wash them first to remove this smoke. If you don't, the smoke will get into the color you are putting on your walls, causing the color to turn out more ugly. If you are going to paint these walls white, you will end up with an off color white.

As smoke and steam mix together, this is why you have a sticky mess on all of the things in your kitchen. It will settle on not only your cabinets but on all of the knick-knacks that you have sitting around your kitchen. The worst place for this mess to show up is behind your stove, and you will have to pull out the stove every once in a while to be able to keep this build-up from becoming too much of a mess to just clean with a rag.

This stuff will settle on your stove itself and will cause this stove burners to become greasy, which can cause a fire to appear on the bottom of the pan you are using on this burner. It can cause a hole to appear from this fire, making the pan useless and you will have to throw it away. This can also cause the burner to short itself out making it so that you will have to buy a new burner. It can cause your whole stove to short, which will make it so that you have to replace your stove or if this happens at night, which is usually when it does, you will have to find some other way to cook your dinner until you can get a new one.
