How To Clean A Terrazzo Floor?

Terrazzo is a material used for treatments of wall, floors, and countertop. It is prepared, pulverized, and refined to create a finish with same or exact texture. It is made up of marble, glass, or other compatible material which is poured with cement-based chemicals.
The Terrazzo is usually made up of marble which is resistant to stains and does not easily absorb liquid. If you have Terrazzo flooring you must take caution on keeping it clean because the binder in it can easily absorb stains.
You can use wax-stripping products in cleaning the terrazzo floor. Just follow the instructions, clean wash it with water and leave it to dry.
In order to protect the cement from stains you can seal the floor with one coat of sealer. Follow the instructions and again, let it dry.
Next, regularly clean the floor from dusts by sweeping it with a broom of a vacuum. In cleaning, you can use a cleaner with neutral pH or the ready-made terrazzo floor cleaning agents. Create a mixture of three gallons of water is to one cup of the cleaner. Then, apply the mixture, set it for a few minutes and mop the floor with clean water until there are no visible mop lines.
In maintaining the cleanliness of your floor, always wipe spills right away so that it wont stay permanent on the floor.
Also, if you will be cleaning stains from the Terrazzo floors, you can follow these simple steps.
If the stain is caused by alcoholic drinks, wipe it with lukewarm water with soap. If it doesnt go away, se denature alcohol in cleaning. If it still wont work, you can use hydrogen peroxide on removing the stain.
If there are blood stains on it you can use clean and cold water. If it still stays, add drops of ammonia on the cold water. If its a very tough bloodstain it is suggested to pour warm water and a sprinkle of powdered malt on the stain. Let stay and then rinse.
For ink stains, you can clean and remove it with a mixture of lukewarm water and liquid detergent soap. If the stain has stood for a while, make a mixture of two spoons sodium perforate and a few drops of water; mix it until it becomes pasty. Apply it on the stain and rinse with clean water.
Just follow these easy steps in cleaning and maintaining your Terrazzo floors to always make it clean and stain-free as new.
