How To Clean A Mattress?

By:

You do not have to clean a mattress every day. But if you want to prevent getting over worked trying to clean a mattress make sure you clean it frequently. Make it once every two month and your life would never be miserable!
Cleaning a mattress is not difficult at all. All you have to do is get a little more organized and active. Here are some notable points. Follow these tips and instructions and get started today:
First use a vacuum over your mattress. Concentrate on the corners and crevices as dust particles get trapped and accumulated in these areas.
If your mattress is very dirty, go for upholstery cleaner unless your skin is too sensitive to such products.
To deal with the stains, use an enzyme cleaner
For stubborn blood stains, use three percent hydrogen peroxide mixed with a biodegradable detergent.
Rub using a brush or a cloth. And wipe off with a clean damp towel or a cloth.
To get rid of the odor after having cleaned it thoroughly, leave it in the sunlight for several hours. The suntan would help a lot!
For pet urine or other stubborn stains, use baking powder and scrub it in using a brush until the stain disappears. Wipe off with a damp towel.
Additional Tips
It is obvious that prevention is better than cure. If you bring a little change in the way you use your mattress, you would spare yourself all the energy and time required to clean a ridiculously dirty mattress.
Flip the mattress over every six months. This is an easy job and helps maintain the evenness in the body of your mattress.
Keep your mattress covered. Beneath the bed sheets use a cover for your mattress firmly covering the mattress from all sides. This prevents the downside of the mattress from being blackened from the dust that reaches it from beneath.
In case your mattress gets wet, promptly wipe it dry and use a vacuum cleaner head to extract the moisture. Leave your mattress exposed to an electric fan to ensure that it dries up completely.
Wash off any stain using an upholstery shampoo or a mild detergent as soon as your mattress gets stained. Do not wait for the stain to penetrate any deeper and bacteria to gather and party at the stain site.
