Nowadays, LCD monitors are the most commonly used monitors in desktops and laptops. This is because it lets you maximize space, cheaper, and also consumes electricity lesser. As a suggestion, you can use the over-the-counter LCD cleaning solutions. But, if you are planning to save money you can use some household items for your cleaning procedure.
Make a mixture of 70% Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Mix these two liquids, 50% of water and 50% of Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. Just a reminder, do not use tap water to avoid leaving white smear son your LCD screen right after cleaning.
For precautionary measures, make sure to turn off your desktop or laptop before doing the cleaning process. This will also make your cleaning easier because you can immediately see dirt on the black screen.
In wiping, wet the cloth with the mixture of water and Isopropyl alcohol that you have made. Do not use paper towels or cotton, just make use of a soft cloth and softly wipe the LCD screen. Do not wipe harder on the screen when cleaning because it can cause pixel-burn-out.
You can clean the plastic edges or frame of the flat screen with any cleaner. Just make sure that the cleaner will not touch or smear on the screen.
As a reminder, do not use tissue paper or any rough cloth you have in cleaning the LCD monitor or screen because it can scratch the screen. Also, do not use products for cleaning which contains ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These specific chemicals can damage the LCD screen or any screen.
Lastly, do not spray liquid directly on the screen to avoid damage. With pros and cons, you can now start cleaning your LCD monitor.
