How To Choose The Right Fascinator

By:

If you have been admiring that fabulous look of wedding fascinators, but you're not sure which style is for you, this article is for you!

If you already have your wedding dress or at least know which style you want, try out a few ideas to see which one will compliment your dress and personality.

It is very important to try a fascinator on with the dress and veil so you can see the complete look.

Ask yourself which features of the fascinator you like most. Is it a petite disc base, a mini pill box hat, or a cute mini top hat or do you prefer not to have a visible base at all?

Are you in love with the beautiful artistic fabric flowers or do the fabulous feathers catch your eye? Do you like the pearls or crystals scattered over the flowers or maybe you would love attaching a pair of diamond earrings.

Have you considered wearing a birdcage veil or would you like to have just a tiny piece of the netting attached to the fascinator?

If you plan to wear a traditional veil, you will need to consider how the fascinator will look with it and exactly where it will be placed in your hair.

It is important to try out several hair styles with the veil and fascinator to see which one you like best. Have some snapshots taken from several different angles to help you decide.

The hair style will help you determine if you will be using a hair comb, headband, or alligator clip to hold the fascinator in place. Some fascinators come with an elastic cord that is placed under and to the back of the hair to hold it in place.

Will you be purchasing your fascinator or making it yourself? They can be very expensive and you may have trouble finding exactly the style you love. Many styles are easy to make and the supplies are available at craft stores if you would like to make your own.

Some of the most beautiful bridal fascinator styles are clusters of fabric flowers placed to one side of the head, mini pill box hats with birdcage netting covering the top and falling just below the eyes, and a mixture of organza and silk flower petals forming one large flower. Coque feathers curling just above the top of the flower to give it a wispy, airy look.

One of my favorite bridal styles is a beaded satin covered disc of about 4 inches with a small cluster of fabric flowers and a few soft down feathers. A birdcage veil placed slightly to one side and covering one eye. Birdcage netting with dots will give a much softer feminine look.

Many brides are opting to include fascinators to match the bridesmaids dresses. This is a very beautiful way to carry the theme and the materials can be dyed to match any color. It is best to have the bridesmaids fascinators smaller than the bridal piece.

Tiny fascinators for the flower girl are an adorable way to include her. A feather pompom attached to a soft headband will make a cute and comfortable accessory.

Whatever style you choose, including a fascinator is sure to please!
