Breaking up with anyone or being the receiver of the bad news is not fun and this proves true for anyone. In facing reality, breaking up is sometimes unavoidable, especially if one views the relationship not leading to marriage. Before breaking up with anyone, this process should be thought out carefully while relaying the fact that the dating relationship is over.
Sometimes, Christians buy into the fast mentality of dating, especially when utilizing an online Christian dating website. Christians engaging in Internet dating have found themselves in the middle of heartbreaks or in reversing this scenario, the reason for the heartbreaks.
Christians should always be kind, considerate yet firm when breaking up with someone. There is a bible verse which comes to mind in speaking of this topic; Do to others as you would have them do to you, Luke 6:31. Christians should always treat the person being dumped the same way they want to be treated. How can this be applied to breaking up with another Christian? Remain kind, considerate and play gently with peoples hearts. Where the bible is full of many bible verses, which can apply to this particular situation, there, is another saying which does not derive out of the bible, which also comes to mind; What comes around goes around. If one breaks up with someone with utilizing a mean spirit, do not be surprised if the same treatment is aimed at ones self someday.
Christian singles should always have Christian friends. It is highly recommended that Christians rely on their friends in helping them through relationships. Receiving outside point-of-views is mandatory in gaining outside perspectives into Christian dating relationships. Before breaking up with someone, run the situation by a Christian friend. They will inform you if you are acting harshly and without justification. Where a friends perspective is always welcome, keep in mind that if breaking up is something one feels should occur, follow ones heart in the situation while moving on with ones life.
When one decides to break off a dating relationship, do not jerk out a long list while informing the soon to be ex of everything which one felt was wrong with the relationship. Sometimes, quicker is better with avoiding hurtful words. Be honest and considerate of the other persons feelings. Wish them well as they travel their journey of life while going on with your own life.
Do not expect the other person to be understanding of the breakup. Finding solace in the breakup sometimes does not occur until time and space has been offered. After the breakup, pray for the other person that they will find their soul mate while remaining on the path of righteousness.

One thing, which Christians should not do when breaking up with someone, is to merely drop them while not offering any explanation. This is not only rude but also unchristian like. Online Christian dating does feed the fire of easy come, easy go mentalities. Ensure that when breaking up with someone, that consideration and kindness is displayed while not intentionally damaging them.
Ending a dating relationship is not on anyones top ten lists for fun activities. Break-ups happen but where this is normal, they should be performed carefully and with kindness. God will not only aid one and their ex in finding the soul mate intended for them. The healing process must occur while both people involved go on with their lives.
