The proper grip is the first thing and one of the most important aspects in golf basics. It means either success or failure if you do have the right grip. The three most common grips are the overlapping grip, the interlocking grip, and the baseball grip. The overlapping grip is having both your hands on the club while the pinky of the right hand lies on top of the index finger of the left. It would require good forearms and wrists though to pull it off.

For players with short thick hands, the interlocking grip is commonly used. This is done with both hands on the club and the index finger on the left hand and the pinky on the right interlock each other. The baseball grip is basically well, as how you would hold a baseball bat. This is the grip commonly used by beginners. You do it with both of your hands on the club yet they do not overlap or interlock with each other.

Next is to make sure to twist your body when you swing. This may be one of the golf swing fundamentals beginners find hard to adapt in the beginning. Most of the force in your swing comes from body and not entirely on your arms alone. Swinging with your body will add more power and control.

The third important fundamental is keeping your hands low. Limiting the height of your swings will keep the trajectory of your shots lower. This will make your shots longer by not just making the ball fly yet creates no distance. Remember that practice makes perfect. You must learn and understand these golf swing fundamentals and soon you will play great golf for sure. Start practicing now and be on your way to becoming a great golfer.
