How To Bowl A Strike - Fundamentals To Help You Bowl Strikes

By:

If you are wanting to know how to bowl a strike, you have to develop the proper technique for doing so. You could bowl everyday for 10 years and still not be able to hit strikes regularly. The reason behind this is simply lack of technique. If one little portion of the process is not correct, then your whole bowling game is off.

Learning these fundamental aspects to bowling will help your technique and improve bowling scores.

Posture- Posture plays an important role in your ability to bowl a strike because the way you hold and carry your body has some determination on which way the ball goes. You should always be relaxed, with your shoulders square to the foul line. Your lead foot, the one on the same side as your bowling arm, should be pointed directly at the front pin.

Swing- Your swing technique is vital since having it the slightest bit off will almost always result in your aim being off. Firstly you want to grip the ball so that it is lined up with your shoulder.

With your lead foot, step forward and bring your ball back. Take another step with your left then again with your right, bringing the ball back forward. Plant your left foot and release the ball at the point it feels the most pull away from you. Too early or too late on your release will most definitely not deliver the desired throw.

Follow through- This is where most people make mistakes. You want to keep your head and eyes fixed on the pins at all times. By doing so, your shoulders stay square with the foul line and your feet remain pointed forwards

These fundamental aspects, when applied correctly, will teach you how to bowl a strike. It may take some time and practice, but eventually you will get the hang of it.
