Blogging has now become a way of life for many. The following are 5 tips to take you from an average blogger to a great blogger:

1. Blogging is intended to be a social event. Take the time to answer some of the comments left by readers. This interaction will keep them coming back. Commenting and opening up a dialog with your readers create a sense of community. This is exactly what you want to foster if you intend to make money from blogging.

2. Always work from a professional standpoint. You should create a draft of the idea and decide on what topics you would like to cover before ever starting the post. As with any type of writing the first draft usually can always be improved on.

3. Do not write long monologues. Make each paragraph short and readable. Take the most direct route to get to your point. Long posts often miss the mark because the reader gets bored long before they get to the point of the message.

4. Make use of the headings feature. Some post deserves to have a heading that may be a little different than the norm. This will catch the reader's attention and intrigue them to want to know what the post has to offer. And the use of bullets can help to breakup long posts into a more manageable size.

5. Learn to use the hyperlink. If you allude to another blog or website in your post it is always a good idea to use a hyperlink that takes the reader there. This shows the reader you are more concerned with them having this bit of information. You can always have the link set to open in another tab. This way you do not loose your potential customer. You should also consider subscribing to your own blog. By subscribing to your own feed you can get a first hand view of what your readers see when they visit. This gives you valuable information on what works and more importantly what doesn't.

There is a place for personal rants and your monetized blog is not one of them. a well thought out blog can be a great way to earn money. You have to have patience and be willing to go the extra mile to provide your readers with information they find useful, interesting and entertaining. You can hit the mark in several areas by having separate pages for different writing styles. You can blog in a totally informative third person on one page and use another to share the more human side of the subject. Linking the pages will help your readers to know what posts are about the same general subject.

Finally keep your head up. If at first it seems that you are getting nowhere fast continue to post. And continue to search out tips and information that will improve your blogging experience.
