How To Become A Reiki Master

By:

A reiki Master is one who has reached the highest level or degree in the art of Reiki. This means that not only is he able to heal himself and others through palm healing techniques across time and space but also has the ability to control and use advanced reiki symbols in order to access the infinite energy of the cosmos and channelize it through his palms on to a diseased.

Apart from this healing purpose, a Reiki master also has the power to attune others in the practice of this art. Instead of a normal classroom based process, the reiki master attunes others by transferring the abilities through his palms in very much the same way as the healing process takes place.

The word Reiki is made of the two terms 'Rei' and 'Ki' referring to 'Universal' and 'Life force energy' respectively. In this ancient Tibetan technique of palm healing, which was popularized by Dr. Mikao Usui, the Reiki master accesses the infinite positive energy of the universe and channelizes it through his palms to open and balance the seven energy meridians or chakras in the human body located from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

A Reiki Master can heal another person in two ways. Either he undertakes localized reiki for specific portions or parts of another's body that are diseased or injured, or various hand positions are used to channelize energy flow for a whole body treatment where the seven reiki chakras are assessed and blocked or mis-directed chakras are opened and balanced for the person's physical, mental, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

A Reiki Master attunes other reiki practitioners or undertakes the Reiki attunement process in three degrees or levels. In the first level, known as Shoden in Japanese, the basic theories and practices are taught. Thus the Reiki master trains the recipients on the various hand positions favouring the whole body treatment for others. The duration of this level depends solely on the reiki master.

The second level of Reiki attunement known as the Shokuden in Japanese consists of the reiki master training the recipients on various Reiki symbols to empower the healing process and facilitate the energy flow. For example, use of Reiki symbols that connects the energy flow from the practitioner to the healee. Thus, at the end of this level, the practitioners are able to heal others across time or space.

The third and the final level of Reiki Master training or Shinpiden, results in the student becoming the Reiki master himself with an ability to attune others in the art. it involves the knowledge of advanced Reiki symbols and control over them for the ultimate healing abilities. After the Reiki master attunes the experienced practitioner, the latter becomes one himself becoming an expert in the art.

A reiki master is an expert in all the purposes of healing, and he is the person who has the power to attune other practitioners in the art of reiki, with the help of his palms, making different symbols, stroking, blowing, chanting and tapping. Therefore we can strongly stand for the fact that the reiki master is the most important of all, or the main pillar of reiki attunement and healing, and it is only through him that the divine and wonderful art of reiki breathes life.
