How To Beat A Speeding Ticket

By:

The first rule to beat a speeding ticket, is to be polite or better yet, nice. The last thing you want to do is to push against anything or anyone.

The first time you get a ticket is probably from the officer on the road. Don't you hope that you meet an officer who is lenient instead of one who is strict (the one who wants to follow the book or worst; seem bent on taking out on you, so it seems).

Hope no more. You can play a more active part in this than you think, but in a passive way. Again, be polite, nice and apologetic even. Believe it or not, you can really beat your way out of a traffic ticket just by being nice and positive.

But let's say you get a ticket nonetheless, and you still want to beat your way out; how do you do that? Arrange for a meeting with the officer. It goes without saying that you do so politely.

You will need to have a story in advance; one that will convince the officer and allow him to identify with you. He needs to be able to identify with you, if he is to let you go. You need to cross over the usual barrier between officers and the public. You will be doing yourself a great service if you succeed (and up your level of confidence at the same time).

If you are handy at writing, you may want to write him a letter. To show your sincerity, remember to include your contact information. Write the letter in a polite and professional way. If this pays off, you will not be sorry.

When it comes to meeting up with the officer or handing him a letter (or both), you want to appear neat and polite. Plead appropriately and avoid appearing like a pest. If you want to motivate people, you usually have to do it in a positive way.

If you do end up in court, all is not lost. Again, at any point in time, there is no need for you to push against anything. Pushing hardly serves you, if not the opposite.

Ensure that you obey the deadlines set by the court. If you call the court clerk, address that person by the first name and you appear friendlier.

At this point, you have two alternatives. The first is to get done and over with. The other is to continue to harbor hope that you are getting out of this one still. A delay in trial may actually work in your favor, especially if it is delayed long enough. For example, the case may be dismissed in the event the officer had been transferred or the like.

And there you have it, more than one opportunity to beat a speeding ticket whichever stage you are at. Remember to stay positive and keep up a good as well as polite attitude all the while, all the way to the end. If you are lucky, you will have got out much earlier!
