How To Be Creative At Little Expense With Your Lighting

There are endless possibilities when it comes to being creative with your lighting enhancing your environment. You dont even need to go to huge expense by doing loads of re-wiring. You can transform a room just by adding a few strategically placed table lamps or standing lamps.

Another very simple way of improving your lighting is to use a dimmer switch, this simple measure can turn your room from a stark environment into something warm and inviting and all it requires is replacing a standard wall switch with a dimmer. Be aware though that not all bulbs are dimmable.

There are also some lighting manufacturers that produce their wall lights with a lead and plug as well so that you can plug them in rather than having to wire them into the wall. This works well for example behind a bed head as you can have the light positioned just above the bed head and the wire then is hidden behind.There is also the option of the wire/lead being a part of the design of the fitting in a bright orange or some other colour that will look trendy within your interior design for that room.

You can transform your lighting scheme just by changing your shades. There are suppliers now who will cover existing shades in a fabric of your choice which presents itself with endless options. Imagine being able to have your shades in the same fabric as your cushions or curtains. You can even do this with a ceiling pendant. It can really make a room incredibly co ordinated and very rich in textiles. This is a super option for bedrooms, living rooms, halls and dining rooms.

Another possible option if you are dealing with the right lighting retailer is to customise your light fittings. For example if you find yourself in a situation whereby you are only wired for one light but you would like two or more, perhaps at different heights to add interest, the right retailer would be able to use a ceiling base in a stylish contempoary finish that can accomodate the number of fittings you require. This option is very exciting and is ideal in high ceiling scenarios where there is a lot of height to play with.

Most lighting retailers unfortunately cannot offer all the options just mentioned but if you read on you will find one who can.
