How To Be A Perfect Host

By:

Having guests during long periods of vacation is one way of maintaining your relationship with an old friend or a family friend. But behind the most beautiful intentions of accepting guests, we are also bothered by the question on what do we feed them. These guests of yours are not just staying for a couple of hours; they might even stay throughout the whole vacation. So it is best that you, as their host, know what to do and what to prepare.

You need to prepare everything before your guests arrive. To be able to do this as fast and as correctly as possibly, a list of all the things you need to buy can be of great help. Knowing your guest can help you make this list. Sometimes your guest might be allergic to some kind of food so before setting out on that shopping, better make sure by asking them.

Preparation of the Meals

Lunch

So what do you prepare for lunch? Sandwiches are by far the most popular form of lunch not only it is easy to prepare but also you can make a variety of it. All you need to have are a couple of fresh vegetables, some slice and dice meat and maybe some mayonnaise or anything that goes along with your sandwich. Just make sure that you prepare enough for all of you. Quick and easy to prepare are the secrets of a successful lunch.

Dinner

By far this takes the longest time to prepare. So it is advisable that you prepare ahead of time. Bear in mind that your guest would like to be with you and you don't have the luxury of time to spend in the kitchen. Freezing some menu ahead of time is one way to serve dinner faster. You can also try to opt for grilling barbeques which is relatively a fun activity for you and your guests.

Breakfast

This is quite easy to prepare, just make sure that you have enough stock on cereals and milk. Also if you can prepare ahead some coffee then it would be very helpful, especially if some of your guests are early risers. You can cook some eggs and bacons to go with it.

With these tips on meal preparation you can be sure that you can really serve and satisfy your guest.

Room Accommodations

Once you have done preparing the foods that are to be served to your guests then the next thing to take into consideration is their accommodation. If you have a guest room ready then it would be no problem, but for those who don't have a guest room, you can opt to convert one of the rooms in your house to a guest room or ask one of the occupants in your house to share it with your guests. If the space in your guest room is not enough for your guests then try changing the full size bed into sofa beds. Sofa beds are small beds and can be easily folded into a sofa once no longer needed as a bed.
