How To Apply Concealer Correctly

By:

In order to make yourself look youthful with fresh skin you need to make sure your skin looks as perfect as possible. To do this you will need to use concealer to get rid of any blemishes or dark patches you may have. The aim of this article is to give you some tips and advice on how to use concealer.

The first thing you will need to do is select the colour you are going to use. We would recommend selecting one that is a shade lighter than your foundation. This will help it to blend in and more easily hide any blemishes you may have.

You may want to have more than one concealer and this is recommended by us. You will want to have a standard liquid foundation to cover the red marks and spots you may have. To cover the dark circles under your eyes you might find a highlighting concealer pen works best. These pens when used properly will reflect the light and so reduce the appearance of dark circles. In order to apply your concealer under your eyes, twist the pen until the concealer appears in the brush. You should then start on the inner side of your eye and use the brush to apply and blend the concealer under your eye. You will not be able to blend it completely with the brush so when it is almost there, gently use your finger to ensure the dark circles are covered and the concealer is not visible.

We would recommend applying your concealer over your foundation so that you can easily see the blemishes that are not covered by your foundation. This will make things much easier and will help to ensure your concealer stays in place.

Once you have applied your foundation look closely at your face to determine exactly where the red marks and blemishes are on your skin. Then gently apply a very small amount of concealer to each mark you notice. Using your figure gently dab the concealer on the area to help to blend it in. Try not to rub it too much as you may find this will remove the concealer rather than blend it and you will be back where you started.

If you would prefer you could use a brush to apply your concealer and blend it as much as possible with your brush before using your figure to just take off any excess that may be remaining.

Once you have applied your concealer to all the relevant areas of your face you now need to do what you can to make sure it remains in place. The best way to do this is to apply powder over the top. We would recommend using a translucent loose powder as this will work with all skin types. To apply your powder, use a large brush, the sort that is often used for blusher. Dip the brush into the powder and then shake off any excess. Lightly dust your face with powder to give it a decent covering. This will help to take out any oil from your concealer and will help to keep it in place.

It is important to take your time when applying your concealer in order to get the most perfect look you can. Anybody can do this with enough practice and you will find you leave the house with skin that looks flawless.
