How To Add Accessories To Your Look

By:

If you find your wardrobe can be a bit boring sometimes the answer can be to accessorise your look. This can be very easy to do if you know what you are doing and the aim of this article is to give you some tips and advice to make it easier.

The first thing to say is that buying accessories does not need to be expensive. Look out for good costume jewellery. You will often find that this is very cheap but also looks great with any outfit. Anything that adds texture and colour can help.

When you are looking to accessorise the first thing you need to do is pick your outfit and then you will know what you can add. If your outfit includes a low cut top and gives you space around your neck you should add a necklace. If you want to look elegant than one simple chain could work. However if you are going to a party you might want to add a lot of different necklaces, all of different lengths.

If you are wearing a t-shirt or a short sleeved top then you will have a lot of space around your arms and so bracelets are the way to go. You can go for a small simple one of a big chunky metal one. If you want to add even more fun get a load of different coloured bangles and pile them on to one of your arms.

If you wear earrings then dont be afraid to go a big and bold and use them to add excitement to your outfit. However there is one proviso hear and that is if you are wearing a big necklace or a few different ones then you should stay away from the big earrings. If you go for both it might look a bit much and you will end up looking like a Christmas tree.

You can also be very bold with your rings. If you look out for them you can get some of these great rings that have massive stones and are big and chunky. Dont be afraid to go wild, add some colour and lots of different textures.

Another way that you can add to an outfit is through the use of belts. If you are wearing something like an A-line skirt you can use belts to balance up your look. Try adding a big chunky belt over the top of your skirt just sitting on your hips. This can make the most boring of skirts look more interesting.

Before you begin to accessorise think about the type of event you are going to. If it is a fun party then you can go for it and add as much as you want. If you are going to a more formal event like a business meeting you might want to tone it down a bit and keep it more simple.

The most important thing to remember is to make sure you feel comfortable. If you add all your accessories and feel like it is too much take some off. If you dont feel comfortable that will come across and make what you are wearing look silly to others even if it is not. Have confidence in yourself and go for what you love to wear and not what you think others will like.
