How Supra Footwear Started

Supra Footwear are the trendiest trainers in the shoe industry today. Supra Footwear started in 2005 when Angel Cabada decided to expand his portfolio from making styling clothing to making stylish footwear

Angel Cabada grew up in Orange, County, California. This is where he fell in love with skateboarding. He tried his hand at working ordinary jobs, however nothing lasted very long. So he decided to do something different and started producing clothing with some friends of his.

His first brand was TSA. TSA survived about 10 years before Angel split up with his partner. He acquired a lot of skills about the business world through his dealings with TSA. In 2002, he started KR3W which is still going strong under the umbrella company One Distribution. One Distribution covers both KR3W and Supra Footwear. The original plan was to make KR3W Footwear, but Angel recognised this would be a conflict of interest for people he worked with so he built another company which he named Supra Footwear. The name Supra is Latin for "above and beyond". Angel planned to do something to go with his clothing line, and he thought the shoes out there were too chunky.

His first Supra shoe that he designed was the Skytop. When Angel first designed the Skytop, lots of people made fun of him. But it sold so rapid it's clear who had the last laugh. The Skytop remains to be very popular and can be purchased at most independent urban and skate stores.

Angel doesn't pay anyone to wear Supra shoes. He provides free samples to his friends and they put them on because they like them. Amongst those who wear Supra are Steve Aoki, Chad Muska, and Samantha Ronson who wears Women's Supra Sneakers. One reason for their popularity is that people respond to the credibility of the brand. Real skaters wear them because real skaters like them. When Angel made the Gold 14k Edition with Chad Muska, the consumer interest was up to interest often associated with Nike. The 413 Silver Edition sold out in thirty minutes. Supra's NS line was launched at popular driven trade shows as a substitute for skate shops. Everything was black and white to begin with.

One of the great moments in Supra's short history was when Little Wayne and Jay Z wore Skytops at the BET awards. The Supra Sneaker line is an awesome sneaker that not only looks awesome, but is a legitimate skate shoe.
