How Retail Displays Can Make Or Break Store Aesthetics

By:

When setting up your store, one of the first things you'll want to do is buying retail display cases. They are infinitely important when it comes to displaying jewelry, collectibles, or other items that are valuable or fragile. But getting any display and placing it wherever there is room is not going to give your store the appeal you want. Choice of displays and where to place them is a major factor in attracting business.

The first thing you want to consider is how well potential customers can see your glass showcases in the front of your store window. If you have your own display in the window that features mannequins or other pieces displayed in their own space, then you don't have to worry as much. But smaller glass showcases can be placed in the window. If you want your windows bare, make sure that wherever your displays are inside the store, they are easily seen from the sidewalk to entice people to come on in.

Choice of display matters, depending on what you are selling. Jewelry display cases are a specific design. They are usually made to have a small, one or two shelf display on top and an enclosed bottom that may include drawers to hold more items. This lets you easily access any jewelry pieces a customer would want to see through storage, instead of fumbling with taking it out of the display (unless it's a one of a kind piece).

Showcases with a wood base work well for jewelry; they emit elegance and class which is the way you want your store to come off to consumers. You also don't want too many shelves and you don't want to clutter those shelves with too many pieces. It's easy to litter a whole shelf with bracelets, necklaces and the like but it's too much for the eye to handle.

If you are selling something like collectibles and statues you may want to consider tower glass showcase. These are sturdy and have enough height to accommodate statues of most sizes. Again, never display too many on one shelf as it will look too cluttered as well as be a weight issue. The open, circular design lets customers see a statue from every angle without them having to touch and potential break it.

Make sure your displays leave proper space for multiple customers to gather around and take their time browsing, as well as letting others have space to walk by at the same time. You don't want to contribute to any congestion, you want all your customers to be able to spot what they want and check out as smoothly as possible.
