How Real Are Your Reality Shows

The latest boom in the television industry is that of reality shows. The television channels, most of them, are going crazy about different concepts and coming up with exciting reality shows. Even the viewers have taken a supreme liking towards these shows, which are a good change for our couch potatoes, bored out watching all mind-numbing, unreal, emotional and superficial dramas.

The excitement that these reality shows happen to pump in is the prime reason for the overwhelming response they are gathering. Viewers heartily enjoy all the supposedly spontaneous actions and reactions of the contestants. While most channels are roping in famous yet struggling celebrities, others with a more physical concept bag in many new unseen faces. But one question that remains unanswered is 'how real are these reality shows'. Although, every channel maintains that the events in their shows are nothing but true and not at all planned, it gets difficult to digest how extreme these people react in different situations.

Also, it is no news that many of the eliminated contestants themselves claim that these reality shows and the events are plotted. The channels brush these statements off saying such contestants only try to give out a conventional loser's excuse. But again, to learn that people are so vulnerable in putatively real situations, somehow amplifies the fact that some of these shows are truly fake.

Even the celebs that are a part of such shows seem unsubstantial. Many of these celebrities try to make the best of such opportunities in reality shows to find their way to fame. Hence, many have to act fake to pull in viewers for their shows. People are not interested in watching normal people on their screens and they do not see any entertainment in viewing normal reactions and situations. The television channels are also well aware of this public mentality. Hence, to hit a chord with the viewers and feed them spirit-crushing emotions, the channels often make up scripts in such reality shows. So in conclusion, some shows are real while some are made up.
