How Portable Is A Portable Pool?

By:

When one thinks of portable pools, its only too easy to consider the worst that could happen: a split in the side. To have thousands of litres of water flooding your property is never appealing. But fear not! Todays portable pools are made with extreme care and forethought. Heres a few features to look for when buying a good quality portable pool:

* Material. Being portable means your pool is going to have to somehow become small enough to be carted about. The material that holds the water in is like a bladder that, once empty, is able to be folded up and carried. Youre going to want a reinforced fabric, such as polyester with a woven core. The flexibility of a portable pool made with this sort of material means it is not only is easier to set up and take down, its flexibility means that the weight of the pool is cradled rather than resisted by the firmer plastic that some old portable pools use. High-quality portable pools will also incorporate a contour into the design of their walls, meaning that the water pressure is evenly distributed, pushing down as well as outwards. Along with tensile strength, you need to ensure that the fabric is going to withstand such corrosive things as UV rays, and potential pollutants that may find their way into the pool.
* Frame. The frame of your pool needs to be a tough, light material able to withstand the pressure and weather. Aluminium is an ideal material and many pool manufacturers use this durable steel in all parts of the frame. Whilst you want your frame to be tough, you also dont want to have to carry around a toolbox with you. Quality portable pools are usually snap-together frames, saving you time and energy.

One of the benefits of a portable pool is that you wont need to worry about a pool pump or pool cleaning system to keep your pool fresh. Of course, this is only applicable if you intend on using your pool for a short period of time. If your pool is going to be in one place for more than a little while, then youre going to need to stock it up with chlorine.

Portable pools are as portable as you want them to be, but you need to be conscious of the water that youre going to use each time you fill it up. Dont take your portable pool out for an afternoon at a friends house. On the other end of the scale, it isnt a good idea to leave your pool set up for a long time, either. If you do, youre going to need to look at pool cleaning and at that rate you may as well get a fixed, above-ground pool.
