How Often Should Parents Have To Purchase Children's Dancewear?

By:

The question of "how long should children's dancewear last and what is reasonable to pay for it?" has become a burning issue in my family of three dancing daughter's and two very supportive yet money conscious parents. My eldest daughter's girl's dancewear was threadbare by the time my ever so hard done by queen of the hand me downs ("you never buy me anything new") second daughter was finished with them, meaning my youngest prima ballerina is leaving behind a dresser full of barely used bloch shoes, capezi shoes and all manner of children's dancewear costumes barely used.
So my lovely partner and I faced with the never ending demands of our daughter's dance studio and our limited budget are constanly asking "what's the solution?"
I know I have always dreamed of a stay at home E'bay business, only I'd need a few more daughter's and their associated dancewear to maintain it! Plus since you never get back what you pay for it, I can't see my idea being sustainable.
This of course leads my mind wondering off to other levels, blaming myself for not producing the necessary 'y' chromosomes and having three boys or potentially the starting outfield for the New York Yankees, but then there would be baseball uniforms, new cleats, how much does it cost to raise a child? Alas in retrospect what if they were taken in mid season by the latest dance movie which would lead to more expensive children's dancewear and less of a second hand market to on sell it to, 'y' chromosomes off the hook.
Does this leave me at the continuing mercy of my daughter's over zealous dance school and it's ever growing input from what I perceive to be stage mother's who will only pay top dollar for the latest pair of Capezi pointes to go with the brand new pair of Bloch tap shoes, which are both required in pink to go along with my five year olds dance costume. Which at the end of her ten minutes of stage time during the end of semester performance will be hung up in the closet until my E'bay business comes to fruition.
So what are the solutions, other that to surrender my credit card, should I join the group of stage mum's? Or should I invite their partners over for a beer and a bar-be-que with an agenda to put a holt to over spending on children's dancewear.
Alas for I fear none of this will ever work, what loving parent could deny their collective of princesses their time in the spot light, pink Bloch shoes, cute gilr's dancewear, make up applied with all the love of a brick layer and the sweat dripping from their brows. This is why they love dancing classes (I would rather that than chasing boy's) it's all for the chance to strut their stuff before the crowd, to have mum and dad so proud, to feel the heat and the glare of the stage lights.
Which leaves me where I started, how can I make my children's dancewear so that the joy that it brings to all of our family isn't ruined by our monthly credit card statement?
