How Not To Cause Wildfires

By:

Camping is really fun, but you have to watch what you are doing when you start up a fire. They can get out of control if you do not take the right precautions. Campgrounds have rules that you have to fellow, also the same principles apply in the woods. When these rules are not followed fires can be started and it can grow into a wildfire. Many things can or will get burned, ruin, destroyed, wildlife can be lost, and smoke will be everywhere. When you start setting up camp you need to do a few things first before you do so.

Things like cleaning the area, getting everything out of the way meaning trash, branches, weeds, and any other debris. Do not put your fire under tree branches because that can cause a fire, it can make the branches hot and they can start to burn. It will cause everything to flame up like the leaves, the bark, and then the whole tree. When you set up the fire you will need to put rocks around it and you can also put dirt around it as well. This will keep the fire maintained inside so it will not get out and spread.

Do not put gasoline on the fire wood to start the fire with, that is not safe. People can get hurt by doing that and the flames can shoot everywhere and it can be high. Never throw trash into the fire because it can come back out and start a fire on anything that is around. It can make the fire pop and when it does that the flames can get bigger, bigger then its suppose to be which is not good. Always have water nearby so you can put out the fire then you are done or if it gets out of control.

It is always good to camp near or next to the river or lake so you can get how much water you need. Make sure you keep your tents or sleeping bags away from the fire. If they are to close it can cause them to get hot and then light up. You make be a few feet away to the flames of the fire can not get to them. Do not throw your trash on the ground, you need to bring a trash bag with you so you can depose all of it. You must always keep an eye on the fire so nothing will happen. Do not let your camping trip or outdoor adventure end up wreaking havoc on the great outdoors or campers near you because you were careless with your fire.
