How Much Time Do I Have To Schedule Next Day Service?

By:

Knowing the cut off times that your courier has for its various services is a very important part of doing business with any type of courier company. The cut off times that NJ courier services have in place are usually not flexible. If you miss them, you typically are going to have to opt for a different type of service with that company, or wait until the following day to receive the service that you have requested. That is why if you're looking for next day service, you need to know what the exact cut off time is for that service.

The difference between the cut off times that different courier companies have set up for next day service are usually based on the hours that the company keeps themselves. There are basically three types of courier companies, although with all the companies out there, there are many variations on these base forms. These are the companies which keep regular business hours, such as 9-5, those which keep extended courier hours, such as 7-11, and those which are open 24 hours.

If you're looking for next day service with a courier company that keeps anything other than a 24 hour schedule, you will probably have to have your order in sometime in the morning in order to get it. Usually, a courier company will make the cut off time for next day service sometime before noon. In those companies which the cut off time is later, it will usually be at the minimum several hours before the end of their work day.

In the case of 24 hours, the cut off time will be different. Sometimes, they too will insist upon a morning cut off time for their next day service. In other situations though, they may allow up until the end of the day to request next day service.

If you happen to miss a cut off time for next day service, don't forget about the number of other ways that you can have a courier company deliver your goods. There are many courier companies that offer same day service over an area nearly as great as their next day service. This provides you with a great backup option in the case that you miss a deadline. There is always rush service as well, which is of course available at any time. If shipping over a longer distance, NFO is another option worth considering.
