If you were to ask some people who appear to dress rather nicely how much money they spend on their underwear, you might be surprised at how many of them would tell you that this is one area of their wardrobe where they try to save money. A lot of people believe that expensive underwear is over rated and besides, who sees them but themselves anyway? The quality of your underwear might be more important to you than you realize.

For ladies, buying cheaply made bras can be a huge mistake. Cheaper bras often will not provide the best support for the breasts and the straps will often stretch and wear out too soon. They might not be made as form fitting as some of the better quality bras you can buy. For a woman, how her breasts look underneath her tops can often determine how well that shirt or blouse will look on you no matter how much it costs.

When it comes to ladies panties, the legs areas can stretch out of shape as well and cause them to ride up underneath your clothes. This can be very uncomfortable and you can get wedgies at the most inopportune times. Buying a cotton underwear is supposed to better for several reasons. Keeping the groin area cool and dry can be helpful to reduce sweating. Reducing sweating can reduce bacteria build up that can cause odor. So, panties are more important than you might think.

One of the worst problems for men occurs with undershirts. The necklines on many cheaper brands will stretch out of shape and they can look older than they really are. Good quality undershirts generally have necklines that stay in shape longer. The elastic bands of underwear might also stretch out of shape and wear out sooner too. Some doctors believe that it is better for men to wear white underwear that fit a little loosely because the dye in colored underwear could be in question as to whether or not it is healthy for the testicles. Cheaper underwear might be dyed with more hazardous dyes that might cause problems.

So, overall, the money you spend on your underwear, whether you are male or female, might be more important than you think. If you spend a lot of money on your outer wear, it might be a good idea to splurge a little on your underwear as well.
