How Much Coaching Institutes Help In Preparing Students For Exams

By:

A coaching institute is all about a little extra study, a little extra effort for little extra marks. The trend of coaching institutes has grown immensely with the growing competition among students. Earlier, during school times the students studied on their from their text books only and scored average to good marks. But these days trend has changed and both the parents and students want to score exceptionally good marks.

Its peer pressure as well as the pressure put in by the parents and teachers. Students just dont feel satisfied with whatever they have studied in the school. So, in the evening they go to a nearby coaching institute to study that little extra. In fact, these coaching institutes have also become a place where they can hang out with their friends in the evening. These institutes are also a reason for them to move and socialize a bit. It is a kind of networking that students indulge for exchanging notes, books, and other such things.

But the question is how helpful these institutes are and can a student manage to score well without taking any sort of coaching?

1.A coaching centre uses special teaching methods and attempts to prepare a student specifically for the exam he/she is planning to write. It provides good study material, like mock test papers, which a student usually does not get in school or college. All these factors help a student prepare in a better manner for a competitive examination.
2. A coaching centre pays special attention to every student, which is quite unlikely in a college or school. It effectively prepares a student to write the exam by regularly holding mock tests. Not only that, in a coaching institute, students are provided with assignments which help them in preparing for tests. It also encourages students to clarify their doubts and discuss with other students as students are more open to interacting in a coaching institute. It will be a little difficult for students to manage without any guidance. Coaching institutes also guide students on how to study, what to study, etc.
3.The most crucial advantage of taking up coaching is that one gets to know the pattern of the kind of questions, what was asked in previous exams, which chapter or question should be given more importance etc. These centers provide study material that includes a detailed syllabus which is usually not covered in regular colleges. This way, one does not have to run around collecting old questions papers or refer to different kind of books. By going to the coaching institutes, students follow a certain study routine and time table. All this definitely helps.
4.Of course, scoring well should not be only purpose of the students to join a coaching institute. This thing mainly depends on the caliber of a particular student. In fact, joining a coaching class is the in-thing. Students feel that this way they dont have to be bothered and will not have to study on their own.
5.When there were no coaching centers, several students were able to clear their examinations. More than the coaching, self-study and focus is important. A coaching institute can just provide a direction that needs to be followed by the students themselves.

Some feel that coaching centers are nothing but means to earn a lot of cash. Undoubtedly, such institutes charge a hefty-fee from students and students are ready to pay it, as they hope that they will benefit from the coaching. And if they benefit it is worth the cost. It is actually a debatable issue whether to study in a coaching institute or to study on own.

A lot depends on the understanding that students have. If a student is determined and focused enough, he/she might be able to clear all kinds of exams without any help. Such a student might never feel the need to join any kind of institute.

But for those who feel that they need a particular direction to be followed, such institutes are beneficial for them. As mentioned above, they provide all kinds of help to the students. Also, for detailed study of a subject, opting for a coaching institute is not a bad option. They give an insight of how, why, what and when, which is of a great help to students who are planning to write exams.

In the end, one can say that everything has its own pros and cons and same goes for coaching institutes.
