Are you on an insurance plan with other people that have been in an accident? If so then it will also affect your rates. Your spouse or teenager can affect the amount you pay. If they record is bad it will be reflected in your bill.

Most insurance companies will use three years from the time of the accident before they drop it from raising your rates. This is only applies if you or someone that you share your insurance coverage were at fault. So make sure that you drive safely.
