How Late In The Day Can I Schedule A Pickup For The Next Day?

By:

One of the number one things that people ask a courier company is how late they can call to schedule next day service. This isn't a product of bad organization, but simply a function of how business is done. When you realize that any company is probably going to be staying open until at least five or six p.m., perhaps later on certain days of the week, you see that they could have orders for their products come in throughout that entire work day. Therefore, they may want to put in their order for pickup with the courier company as late as possible in the day in order to include as many of the orders they received as possible in the next day's shipping schedule. The only way to get around this sort of a limitation would be to use something like order fulfillment services which in addition to transporting your goods are also storing them, allowing you more flexibility in when you place orders for shipments to go out to customers.

Getting the next day service reliably is something that your customers can come to rely on, and the now that if they call you that they can have their order shipped out the next day, something that many customers really appreciate in this age of instant gratification. That is the chief reason why so many courier companies keep much later business hours than the other businesses in the world. Although your average business will close or stop taking orders around dinner time, you will often find that courier companies will stay open until midnight or even later, in order to continue taking orders for pickups for the next day. Some courier companies will have a five p.m. Deadline for next day pickups, but these are generally smaller courier services that you may not want to do business with if you typically have many orders come in later in the day.

Keep in mind though that there are always ways to get anything shipped at any time of day if you want to badly enough. There are twenty four hour courier companies who are more than willing to dispatch a rush courier service to you in the middle of the night if need be. This might cost more, but if getting a product to a client on time is more important than saving every penny on shipping then you do have options.
