How Has Google Transformed Our World?

Where am I? At home, surfing the Internet. And I'm not even on the usual Skype taking recommendations from my little sister about which movies I should watch. But I'm busy Googling, to find out some of the coolest movies out there that are worth both my time and my money. It is indeed a wonderful world out there. Incomparably vast and beyond limits. Google seems to have answers to all my questions. It is a quick and an effective replacement not just for my movie-smart little sister, but also for any friend that I would want or need for that matter.

Talk about traveling, well I have gone to different parts of the earth and back. Forget the earth, I have traveled around the universe. All by sitting within the four corners of my home and on my laptop. Google is my newest travel guide. What do you do when you travel anyway? Check out the coolest places? Learn more about them? Speak to a couple of localites? I have done all of that. Google connects me to various locations that I wasn't even previously aware of. Google Images helps me scan through pictures, while Google Maps gives me the exact location of the place I am visiting. Google Translate helps me understand the meaning of conversations taking place in foreign languages. In addition to this, Google also connects me to various other websites that could be helpful for me to research more about a place I'm interested in. Forget traveling, let's talk about food. I have learnt about some of the best and most delicious cuisines through Google. Obviously, Google doesn't give me the honor of tasting them, but then again it tells me where it is available so that I can rush to the nearest outlet to taste something I have seen on Google. Besides, food and traveling, I also do my shopping on Google. Google connects me to various websites that grant me the privilege to shop for stuff that I don't even get in my own city. A couple of clicks and the dress of my dreams arrives at my doorstep. Besides all of the above, Google connects to various social networking sites where I can make new friends from across the globe and also get in touch with old ones.

Did you ever think all this and much more would ever be possible a few years ago? Well, at least I never saw it coming. What can I say? Thank you Google for transforming my world.
