How Choosing The Right Shower Systems Can Turn Ordinary Bathrooms Into Soothing Retreats

By: Vikram Kumar

As people are beginning to spend more time in their bathrooms, they want things that make their bathing routines more comfortable, luxurious and spa like. Shower systems have evolved that feature multiple jets, steam jets and even shower heads that feel like a rain shower. Knowing your options can often help you decide what is right for you.

The first thing you need to decide is what you want to surround your shower system with. You can pick shower systems which are surrounded by vinyl which simply slide into place. Or, you can opt to create shower systems which use marble tiles as a wall treatment. Either one of these is a good look as they are easy to maintain, it depends on the look that you are going for.

The next thing you need to think about when you are choosing from the many shower systems available is how many jets you want. This can actually affect the surround material you choose. If you like shower systems with multiple jets, you may want to work with a vinyl surround since marble tiles will need to be fitted individually and this can be a problem and can also increase your cost.

For athletes, shower systems that have jets placed at different levels can be fantastic for easing stiff muscles and helping to treat athletic injuries. You may find that it can be fantastic to be able to aim jets as well so shower systems with jets which rotate may be of particular interest to you. You may also want to look at shower systems which can have jets that turn on and off. This is because you may not always want to have water coming out of each of the jets.

Another popular choice is to have shower systems which are separate from a bathtub. This way you can have two people bathing in the room at the same time. This is really only suitable for larger bathrooms but new houses are often being built with master suites that can accomplish just that. If you do have a separate tub and shower, you may want to tie the two elements together. Marble tiles that match can be used in both the tub and the shower and it is the marble tiles that will tie the two components together.

Another unique way to use marble tiles is to use them in more than one bathroom as a way to tie the two rooms together. Imagine how beautiful it can look to use marble tiles in a first floor powder room and then carry the theme through to the upstairs bathrooms with the same marble tiles. You can also use this same method to tie a master bath and other bathrooms together as well.

When you are planning your bathroom it is important to take major elements like shower systems into consideration when selecting other decorating elements. Wall materials such as marble tiles will work better for some rooms than others and you need to think about how it will all work together. Taking the time to plan it through can be one of the best ways to save money and still get the bathroom of your dreams.
