How Can I Optimize My Ad For Free Classifieds

By:

When creating ANY content online have it be articles for article marketing, blogs for your websites, or ads for free classifieds, it's important that you optimize your content so that you can be found. In order to optimize, you need to take a look at not only where you are placing the ads, but also what keywords you are using. In the same way that you shouldn't create an article about motorcycles, and add keywords that have to do with coffee, you shouldn't place your electronic classified ads in the wrong category either. When you post free ads on most free classifieds, you SHOULD be able to find the correct or near-close category that your ad belongs in. Here are a few choices I found on one website:

- Blogs - Business, computer, personal, social

- Community - Activities, artists, childcare, lost and found, musicians

- For Sale - Apparel, computer, electronics, jewelry, event tickets, furniture

- Personals - Just friends, men/men, women/women/pen pal, women/men, men/women

- Employment - Admin, customer service, education, design, advertising, legal

- Real Estate - Apartments, homes, condos and lots for sale, for rent, for lease, you can even find land for sale/rent

- Services - Auto repair, creative, computer, event planning, legal, lessons, movers, Realtors, office solutions, small business

This SHOULD allow you to place your free ads in the correct position. Next, you need to take a look at your keywords. First off, make sure they are relevant in whatever you are selling. If they are relevant, then the search engines will pick up on them and when people do searches on the engines, they will find your ad. This is also why it's important to use the RIGHT keywords - people hate finding an ad that sounds like something they want, only to find out that the person that posted the free classifieds ad, lied about its content! Don't do this. You don't want to piss people off!

Second off, don't saturate your ad with too many keywords, by doing this you could ultimately get yourself banned on the free ads site. Over commercializing your ad could earn you a penalty, and this is another thing you simply do not want. Lastly, when optimizing your ads, make sure you actually make sense when you are writing the ad out. Believe it or not, Google and other engines pay attention to how content is written. If its sloppy or doesn't make sense, the search engines won't index the ad.
