New rc racing hobbyists when attending one of the affairs for the first time can find the experience intimidating. This should not be the case so long as one is prepared properly and arrives at the scene with the right mindset and equipment. Rc race cars include nitro rc cars, electric rc cars and gas powered rc cars. It helps if one approaches the race knowing that he/she does not need to have the latest equipment and gadget and understand that one may not be able to win on the first day. You must realize that you will be racing not alone but with other people, some of whom are very competitive. On finishing the race, one would leave wanting to come back and even better.

The first preparation for a car racing is to visit the tracks web page sponsor or go give them a call to confirm the race schedule. This is to avoid showing up on the wrong footing of the race e.g. late registration. Calling to check race times would be important to ask the classes they race. Off road racing classes include nitro rc cars tracks, buggy, trucks etc. On road racing classes include nitro rc cars for touring, electric touring car among others. Grouping of racers is done for similar type of vehicles and separated into different skill levels. When it comes to smaller tracks, categorization may not be done according to skill level. Large tracks may be inclusive of up to three skill levels including sportsman, novice and expert. First timers should ask to be included in the novice or rookie class or just tell that it is your first time and they will sure know what to do. When one finds the novice class to be too easy, he/she can race in the sportsman class the next time.

Racing rc cars would require one to know the type of tyres that work best for the class you will be racing on not forgetting the best type of rc vehicles to choose. Nitro rc cars and gasoline powered rc cars tend to posses more driving power compared to electric rc vehicles. There are shops at the event where a racer can always shop for rc car accessories if need be. You can order car spares in advance and keep them in the pit box in case of any eventuality during the race. You may be able to get around the track without hitting anything but someone else may hit you.

Ask if the track uses transponders, if so; ask where they can be placed on the rc car for racing. What is a transponder? This is a small radio transmitter that communicates with the computer to find out location of the racer during the racing event. Some requires would require the transponders be placed in a particular location on the chassis or body of the vehicle.Fellow racers can be of help in putting a mounting spot on the car. It is good that one practices prior to the racing as most rc car racing tracks charge some few pounds practicing all day.
