Housing Developers Use Rainwater Harvesting Systems To Make Homes More Attractive To Buyers

By:

At a time when house prices are extremely high and the housing market is not moving very quickly, it becomes more and more imperative for housing developers to use every possible incentive to get buyers interested in homes that they have built. Only by increasing interest in those homes, can they possibly hope to make a sale, and because many new houses on the market are of similar design and specification, housing developers are now looking towards many eco-friendly additions including solar power, advanced insulation and rainwater harvesting systems, as additions that will give them an edge when trying to sell properties. Through effective marketing of these environment friendly home additions, housing developers have noticed a large difference in enquiries.

One of the many features housing developers are now installing into their homes is rainwater harvesting systems. These systems are proving to be big incentives to buyers, as the concept of re-using rainwater is seen as being extremely eco-friendly. In addition if homebuyers purchase a home that already has a rain harvesting system installed, complete with an underground storage tank, then the cost savings involved with saving mains water is realised immediately with no overheads. This is a big incentive for buyers to choose a house over another that may not have any cost saving devices installed.

Building contractors and housing developers are finding that their cash flow has been significantly improved when installing ecologically sound devices such as rainwater harvesting systems into their new builds, as new homes are then sold quicker due to the extra interest, and in some cases housing developers are finding that new homes with built-in rain harvesting systems are actually being actively sought after by potential buyers. By installing these systems, housing developers are being given a significant edge when it comes to selling the houses they build, as buyers are a lot more likely to buy houses that will save them money in the long run. Rain harvesting systems are a quick and simple addition to any new house that can be incorporated into the design with little work required.

Homebuyers themselves are generally interested in any systems that are friendly to the environment, and recycling rainwater definitely falls into this category along with solar power, energy creating installations such as wind generators, and built-in insulation. Saving the eco-system and being conscious of environment change is becoming a key issue these days when purchasing a new house, and a rainwater harvesting system is one important factor in saving resources.
