Lets start with the advantages of the apartments. The first one is the low maintenance. If you rent a house that means you will have garden and there you will have to shovel and mow depending on the rules of your contract you have signed during the hiring process. But if you rent an apartment all things of this kind will be taken care by the apartment association.

The second advantage is the professional management. If you have a house but you are not rich enough to hire a supervisor for your garden you will have to do all the work by yourself. It will be different if you live in a flat because there are well-versed supervisors who are willing to help you with your problems.

The third advantage is the location. Most often houses are located away from downtown, in outcity regions and this makes the whole going to the center of the city quite hard if you do not have a car. The biggest amount of apartments are located in the city center and it is really nice to know that it will take you few minutes to reach your destination in spite of waiting for the bus for hours. We should mention that you can always reduce the price of the apartment.

Change is also another advantage. This means you will be able to change where you live, of course if you are in a flat. It will be very hard to this if you have a house. Basically there is a great flexibility with apartments. And finally the flats are more secure than houses because they offer security services.

Here is a list of some of the disadvantages of the houses:

First the landlords. You can have big problems with your landlord. If he is wrongheaded, this means he will definitely cost you troubles. The second disadvantage is the maintenance. As it was mentioned above if you are not rich enough to hire a supervisor, it will be quite hard to handle with all the work in the garden, inside the house and so on. And last but not least you will have no neighbors. This can be really annoying if you are a gossip person because you will have no-one to talk with.
